The most practical approach is to check the weather immediately after joining a server. If the server has nighttime and Aurora, travel to the reported spawn area and wait briefly before deciding that the pet is absent. A delayed appearance is possible, and another player may already have defeated or captured it.

The observed location in the update coverage was a small island reached by turning left from the Neverland spawn area. However, the in-game index reportedly also lists Frost Isle, so the exact location may require checking both areas as the game changes.
